My Story
A journey full of falls, doubts, but above all, a rediscovered passion.
2018: First Acquaintance
How it all began.
I got into triathlon in 2018 when my dad introduced me to the sport. Until then, I didn't really know what it was, just that my dad used to do it when he was young. We started training together, dad returned to triathlon after 20 years, and I was learning the freestyle technique and consistent training. I did my first races, but I didn't have the talent to 'bite the bullet' and didn't immediately find such a passion for it. For the first few years, I enjoyed training for fun, but I didn't have racing and taking it somewhere seriously in mind.
2020-2022: Youth and Junior Category
When results don't match the hard work.
In the youth category, I found the passion for training and the drive to improve, but the results never correlated with my dedication. I was always passionate about training and gave it a lot, but I never succeeded in races. My biggest handicap was always swimming, where I always lost a lot of time in the water, and it was impossible to catch up. In 2021, I fell in two races, and hardly any of them went as I had imagined, and that broke me a little.
In 2022, when I was graduating, I had no motivation to train and move forward, also due to a knee problem, and I decided to take a break from triathlon. I didn't race for the whole year and only did sports as I felt like it. I didn't know if I would want to return to triathlon and if it was really the path for me.
Autumn 2022: A New Impulse
A meeting that changed everything.
Over the holidays, I realized that I really miss it and that I would try it one more time. In the autumn of 2022, I met my current coach, Honza Kubeš, who opened the way for me, and we switched to middle distances. Also, because middle distances require you to have your head set for large training volumes, and I enjoyed that. Honza changed my perspective on triathlon and taught me to love this sport again and to move forward and learn something new every day.
June 2023: Back at the Start
A comeback that exceeded expectations.
In June 2023, I stood at the start of my first half Ironman and also my first race after a year-long break. It was an unforgettable experience for me. Finishing in 4th place in my first half Ironman was something incredible and a huge reward for all the work. For the rest of the season, I focused on other Czech Cup races and became a bronze medalist at the Czech Middle Distance Triathlon Championship.
December 2024: Joining CSG TRI TEAM
A new stage and support for the future.
Joining a new team opened other doors for me. The CSG TRI TEAM helped me with preparation for the next season and provided me with the support I needed to be able to fully concentrate on training and push my limits even further.
June 2025: First Ironman - Moraviaman
Trial by fire and hitting rock bottom.
The race I had been preparing for and visualizing all winter and spring. The race I thought I was ready for, but the last 10 km of the run surprised me and I hit my absolute bottom. It was a huge experience and a lesson that moved me forward not only as an athlete but also as a person.
